  1. Thanks, Bruce, for reporting that “A Glorious Chance: The Naval Struggle for Lake Ontario, 1813” is one of the two new games up for preorders at Legion Wargames.

You mentioned it’s a topic that you know little about, but you sounded curious to know more. Just FYI: Anyone interested to learn about this campaign might enjoy the downloadable bibliography I posted on the game’s pages at Boardgamegeek and Consimworld.

  2. I have theory for why Kim Kanger is making a game on the Burma theatre. His earlier games have been about Indochina (and colonial France), right?. Well, Kim says that he’s read Windrow’s ‘The Last Valley’. And, the first page of The Last Valley mentions the Burma theatre: “The French theory was that even in the roadless wilderness of this ‘High Region’ a string air-ground base could be implanted and kept supplied by airlift alone – a concept for which the British ‘Chandit’ campaign in Burma in 1944 offered encouraging precedents.” This sentence planted the seed for Nemesis Burma 1944! I’m currently scouring other sources that Kim has used so I may find more clues about the next Kim Kanger game. Hmm, if I am correct then I should look forward to a game about…

  3. Too short my friend, please hit the 1 hour mark. You got so much to say so why dont you say it!

    • Hi Andreas,

Thanks for the comment. I do struggle with keeping the podcast short as I have a lot to say, but I feel it is better to edit down to a shorter length than to fit everything in that might not all be as interesting. I want to avoid the excessive length that I know I am capable of 🙂 as my goal is to have a brisk, well-edited podcast that is easy to listen to and does not require a huge commitment of time. Even those podcasts that I love, I find that a two-hour commitment is too much for me, and I will listen to 45 minutes and not make it back for whatever reason, not because of the quality but just because it is harder to remember to pick up where I left off. So for now, I will be consistently shooting for the 30-45 minute mark.

  4. Bruce,

You mentioned you don’t want to have your solo views section become a top-5/top-10 list every month. I do enjoy you mentioning games you like, especially if they’re not recent.

I was thinking it might be nice if you picked one older game you like and spend a few minutes talking about that one game rather than continuing with a list every month. It would give you more time to go into why Twilight Struggle or Flat Top or whatever is something you enjoy and why.

I am enjoying the podcast. Thanks.

  5. Love the series! Also really liked your YouTube series on Dien Bien Phu, eagerly anticipating the last one!

  6. By the way, did you try Blitz! – A world in Conflict? Don’t know if you like global grand strategy but I at least have had a lot of fun with that recently.

    • I have not tried that but am intrigued by the idea of World in Flames at a larger scale. Is it any good? I assume that if you say you have had a lot of fun with it, then it is!

  7. Hi Bruce,

A day late and a dollar short. I just recently caught up on listening to the last 3 episodes and I wanted to comment on the question you had about Last Blitzkrieg (which was still on pre-order when you mentioned it in episode 4.

I sent you a lengthy message on BGG. Hope you have time to read it!
