  2. Great ending to the episode, Bruce! One of the finest moments I’ve had listening to podacasts. Still basking in the afterglow.

  3. Bruce,
Thanks for another enjoyable episode. One set of upcoming games from MMP which you did not mention (perhaps the announcement came a tad late to make your list) are the new GCACW games: Atlanta is Ours and Road to Gettysburg II (which I think combines two previous games in a new reprint)

    • I did see the GCACW games when I was looking up links after the show was recorded, but as you said, the announcement was a bit close to the recording date. I will definitely mention them next time.

  4. Hi Bruce, this podcast keeps getting better and better. Can I ask about your experience of Combat Commander and how it has rubbed you the wrong way?

  5. Another fine episode. The last segment felt very personal and moving. As usual, great work.

  6. I will always have fond memories of The Russian Campaign as my first board wargame. To this day I don’t know how a copy of it ended up in a small town in rural Australia in the 1980s. But when I was 8 or 9 I just loved taking it out and looking at it and matching up the counters on the setup sheet. I only had a vague idea of who Hitler and Stalin even were, and definitely no idea how to play it or understand the rules so I actually wrote my own rules on how to play. I would coerce/bribe my younger brother who was 2 years younger to play it with me – he was always Germany and I was always Russia. Each time the game lasted about 1 turn before he got bored and we packed it up and did something else.

I found it again in the garage the other day. A lot of the chits have gone missing and the rule book has been eaten away by mice. Perfect timing for the definitive edition – thanks for the heads up!

  7. Stumbled on your podcast by accident the other day and have been devouring each of the episodes! I’ve loved your episodes on ThreeMovesAhead and I think your concept for Wild Weasel is fantastic. Love the news element, the interviews, and the thoughtful segments.

I’m relatively new to wargaming and your thoughts are much appreciated! Although, my Amazon and eBay wishlists are getting longer and my wife is looking at this with both amusement and horror…

  8. Thanks for a great podcast! The 30-40 min format really works; no waffle and all concentrated quality content. I especially enjoy the three question interviews. I look forwards to the next instalment 🙂

  9. Always enjoy your podcasts, both here and when you speak on 3MA.

Looking forward to seeing the next videos for both Gaugamela and Dien Bien Phu!

  10. Great episode. Didn’t you mention a game you and a budddy played about the French Indochina War? I’m very interested in it.
