Hi Bruce!
Nice to have you back, you were missed!
I’m the designer of Prelude to War, on the pre-order list at Legion Wargames.
You’re right, the “doesn’t involve any dice-rolling” bit can be misleading, there is, as you’ve stated, randomness enough in the game. what I meant, was that in the mechanism that handle the diplomatic confrontations, luck was not the ultimate arbiter. The bluffing part allows you to prevail even you were dealt a very poor card hand and/or chit draw – that is a central feature of the design.
Thanks, again, for your precious contribution to this community!
Thanks for posting, Serge. I’m looking forward to the release of Prelude to War. My CPO is in!
Checked out the AAR for Prelude to War and it looks really interesting!
Looks like Legion Wargames is stepping up its ambition!
Are the rules available anywhere?
The rules are not public yet.
There’s a final round of Vassal playtesting to be conducted soon, and the rules should be finalized after that.
Great podcast. hey I just wanted to note that I made up a new map for Don’t Tread on Me. You can download it from the White Dog Games website. I wanted a map with more room, so I made this one up. Its to be printed out onto two 17×11 sheets.
That’s beautiful, Tim! I’m going to have to get this one mounted as well!
Awesome, more Wild Weasel!
Awhile back, you discussed that your #2 solo game was Navajo Wars. I have been anxious to hear you talk about Comancheria, even though it was released December 2016, I don’t think you have mentioned it. Have you looked into Commancheria? I’m stuck unsure which to buy until I know whether Commancheria has shuffled up your solo list.
Great that you are back, and great episode!
I also listened to your recent Three Moves Ahead about Cataclysm. You really should try: Blitz! – A world in conflict.
Looking forward to the next episode.
If you want an accurate simulation of the Falkland’s campaign, Mayfair’s War in the Falklands isn’t for you. It was published even before the AARs were written.
But if you want a fun, enhanced War at Sea system, GAME, it is very good.
